The need to reduce the European Union’s energy dependence was highlighted by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and Cyprus' Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, on Wednesday, during a debate at the European Parliament on the EU response to the ongoing Middle East crisis.
