Cultural heritage is increasingly threatened, not only due to the natural wear and tear as time goes by, but also by armed conflicts, natural disasters, and the advance of globalisation, Cyprus’ Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr Vassiliki Kassianidou, said in the Intersessional Workshop on Cultural Rights and the Protection of Cultural Heritage that took place on Friday in Geneva, suggesting the development of an international cooperation platform that would facilitate the exchange of knowledge and resources between nations and cultural heritage professionals.
