The Department of Forests received on Friday 25 new fire trucks for firefighting purposes in forests with the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panayiotou, emphasizing that the Government will continue to strengthen the Department with robust resources. At an event marking "International Forest Day" on March 21, Panayiotou noted that the Forestry Department has ensured the availability of at least 11 primary firefighting vehicles as of May 1, with efforts to increase this number further.
