The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) expressed grave concern about the high levels of inter-prisoner violence and the failure of prison staff to ensure the safety of those in custody in Nicosia Central Prisons, in a report published today on its April 2025 ad hoc visit to Cyprus, together with the response of the Cypriot authorities.
