In 2024, 68% of the population living in households in the European Union owned their home, according to data released today by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat). As noted by Eurostat, this represents a slight decrease compared to 69% in 2023. The remaining 32% of the population lived in rented accommodation, up from 31% the previous year.
