Marianna Karageorgis

She was born in Larissa, Greece. She studied Journalism and Communication at the French-speaking University of Brussels (Université Libre de Bruxelles) and holds a master's degree in International Relations from the same University. She also holds a master's degree in Public Administration (MIM).

She worked for three years for the European Commission at the Directorate-General for Development and, since 2002, has been serving in the Public Service of Cyprus as an Officer at the Press and Information Office. From 2007 to 2013, she served as Press Attaché at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Cyprus to the European Union and, in 2012, she was appointed as Spokesperson for the first Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU. She then worked for four years as a Press Officer in the office of the Minister of Education and Culture and an additional four years as a Press Officer in the office of the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Environment. She has also served as a member of the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO.

Today, she is the Head of the Liaison Officers and Organizations Section of the Press and Information Office, coordinating the network of Press and Information Officers across Ministries and Diplomatic Missions of the Republic of Cyprus.

She is married to Constantinos Karageorgis and has one daughter and two sons.
