The Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB) informs you that the Department of Meteorology has renewed the red-level warning for hazardous weather conditions.
The Department of Labour Inspection (DLI), the competent authority for occupational safety and health matters, has also issued a related announcement regarding the suspension of certain outdoor works for today, Thursday 14 August 2025.

Accordingly, between the hours of 11:00 and 17:00, and while the warning remains in effect, the following work must be suspended:
It is clarified that the red-level warning and the work suspension apply to inland areas (areas with an altitude below 300 meters and more than 10 kilometers away from the coastline) and to the higher mountainous regions (mountain areas with an altitude above 1,150 meters).
In all other cases (light work and areas where the red-level warning is not in effect), the necessary measures described in the Code of Practice for the Thermal Stress of Workers must be taken.
It is reminded that, based on the Safety and Health at Work (Code of Practice for the Thermal Stress of Workers) (Amendment Order) of 2023, regardless of the organizational and technical measures taken, in any case of a Meteorological Department warning issued for extremely high temperatures, the following shall apply in the areas where the warning is in effect:
It is emphasized that, to address thermal stress of workers in both indoor and outdoor environments, the provisions of the Code of Practice for the Thermal Stress of Workers (revised edition 2020) must be implemented.
