The resolution of the Cyprus problem based on legality is our unwavering goal, President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, said on Sunday, noting that the messages coming from Europe and the other side of the Atlantic, «indicate that the only path is one and indivisible homeland, adherence to international law, our principles and values».

There is no room for oscillation in foreign policy, Minister of Foreign Affairs Constantinos Kombos said on Sunday, stressing that Cyprus is on the right side of history and that this stance strengthen Cyprus' efforts for a settlement to the Cyprus problem which «remains an existential issue for us.» Meanwhile, Kombos said in a post on X that he discussed with Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, enhancing bilateral relations, especially in the fields of investment and trade but also the situation in Lebanon and Gaza.

Minister of Health Michael Damianos reiterated on Sunday the Greek Cypriot side's vision over the liberation and reunification of Cyprus through a peaceful, viable and just solution to the Cyprus problem. He repeated the readiness of the Greek Cypriot side to sit at the negotiation table and said that the government and the President of Cyprus are in close cooperation with the Greek government, while being active on "all levels" in order to engage the EU and utilise the international community.

Cyprus and Egypt are set to deepen their collaboration in the maritime sector, with plans to establish a Joint Maritime Committee to ensure continuοus communication and coordination. This was the focus of discussions held by Cyprus' Deputy Minister of Shipping, Marina Hadjimanolis, during her recent official visit to Egypt from October 29 to 31, following an invitation from Egypt's Minister of Transport.

Crews of the Limassol and Paphos district administrations were on Sunday recording damage caused by Saturday's storm but also clearing items and debris from the road network, while the Health Minister announced that damage to the Paphos General Hospital would be restored immediately, and that no patients were affected.
