In a post on X, UNSG said that Cypriots want a future with cooperation, opportunity and peace. According to sources, UNSG's goal is the resumption of Cyprus negotiations before the end of his term. Earlier, the UNSG expressed deep appreciation for CMP's work to identify and return remains of missing.

For the first time since the Crans-Montana Conference, the substance of the Cyprus issue and specific aspects of the negotiating acquis were discussed, President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides said following Wednesday's trilateral meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman. Later, addressing the Central Councils of Overseas Cypriot Organisations, the President said that UNSG's statement leaves no room for interpretations. Meanwhile, Greek FM says that Greece is ready to contribute to a successful informal meeting.

The European Union's Special Representative for Cyprus and Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Raffaele Fitto, is expected to arrive in Cyprus on Thursday.
